Mitt Romney, born March 12, 1947 is the son of George and Lenore Romney. His father George was Governor of Michigan and a former presidential candidate in 1968. His mother had been an actress. Mitt attended Stanford University for a time and then served as a Misionary for the Mormon Church.He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1971. A successful businessman, Mitt Romney was a founder of Bain Capital in 1984. In 1994 he made a run for a Massachusetts seat in the US Senate, but lost to incumbent Ted Kennedy. In 2002 he organized the Winter Olympics in Park City, Utah. Later that same year he won the Governor's race for Massachusetts. Mitt Romney did not seek another term, but instead began a run for the Presidency of the United States.
